This award winning advisory firm is looking for an enthousiastic and skilled Investment Analyst to join their ever-growing team.

The role

The Investment Analyst position is a diverse role which requires a proactive, diligent and adaptable individual, with a strong passion for startups and the venture capital industry.

You will get involved in a range of activities:

  • Sourcing prospective startup clients for MV; supporting the team to reach out to startupteams, including leveraging CRM tools.
  • Evaluating startups as investment opportunities and presenting them to the team, informally and formally through Investment Committee meetings.
  • Supporting the investor-readiness of clients, including document preparation and review, and building relationships with founders.
  • Supporting existing clients with ad-hoc requests.
  • Building the MV brand through blog posting, social media messaging and community building such as roundtables.
  • Supporting ad-hoc projects such as investor readiness projects on behalf of partner organisations.
  • Conducting research on different investors leveraging private and public information.
  • Supporting external presentations, and ecosystem reports.
  • Conducting market research on emerging industry trends.
  • Attending startup events and conferences and building relationships with the ecosystem (startups, accelerators, investors).

What you bring to the table.

Requirements

Ambitious, energetic, and enthusiastic person with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Preferrably a Masters degree in Investment analysis or any quant degree
  • Minimum required is a bachelors degree in such direction and equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Strong attention to detail, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence to pick up the phone and speak to a range of potential clients/partners
  • Passion for startups and new technologies, and a desire to learn about the venture capital and investing market
  • Strong computer skills including Google Suite (slides, sheets, docs)
